Roof Tiles Change Color To Save Energy

Who: A group of MIT graduates.

What: Discovered a way to make color changing tile. This tile changes colors from black to white. When the weather is cold, the color of the tiles is black. This way, the tiles absorb as much heat as possible and you save energy because you house will stay warmer. This way, you will be able to save money on your heat bill. However, it is not yet discovered what percent of you bill will be reduced with the black tiles. When the weather is cold, the tiles will turn white to reflect the energy from the sun. This way, your house will stay cooler. This can save you up to 20 percent of the cost for cooling your house.

When: This discovery has happened very recently. However, commercials and stuff have not yet gone up because further testing is required.

Where: This invention will help you in your own homes, and may also be helpful to businesses.

Why: This invention was created in order to save energy. In addition, it can help families save money on their bills.

How: This invention depends on a polymer system. When the temperate is colder, the polymer stays dissolved. This lets the black background show through. This keeps the house warmer. When it is warmer around the tiles, the polymer condenses and then through a chain reaction, causes the white to show through.

Opinion: I think that this is a really good way to save energy. Not only will it save energy, it will save money, which could help people who are loosing money in this economy. Also, because it saves energy, it helps save our planet. This is good because we need to protect our planet. I hope that the testing that they are currently doind show that this product is viable. I also hope that if this product truely works, that they will be able to mass produce it. I wish them luck!
